Photo Mode

Take a photo

  1. Turn on the camera with a long press on the left button and wait for the camera to boot up completely. The camera is on when “VIDEO” or the last selected mode appears on the status screen.
  2. Short press the right button to switch mode until the status screen displays “PHOTO”. An animated mustache will show up for a few seconds while the photo mode is being loaded. Once the camera displays “PHOTO” again, it’s ready.
  3. Short press the left button to take a photo. The camera will display a countdown and take a photo.
  4. The status screen should quickly display the name of the file and then display “PHOTO”. Your photo is recorded!

Specs

By default, the photo settings are as follow:

  • Resolution: 4096 x 2048
  • format: .jpg
  • Timer: 5 seconds
  • Weight: 3MB (average)
  • HDR: off

The timer and HDR mode can only be set using the GIROPTIC 360cam app.

Burst

The burst mode takes three (3) 360° pictures per seconds from a defined period of time (5 sec by default). This mode can be useful when trying to catch the right moment without having to take multiple photos in the standard photo mode.

Shoot in burst mode

  1. Turn on the camera with a long press on the left button and wait for the camera to boot up completely. The camera is on when “VIDEO” or the last selected mode appears on the status screen.
  2. Short press the right button to switch mode until the status screen displays “BURST”. An animated mustache might show up for a few seconds while the burst mode is being loaded.
  3. Short press the left button to take burst photos. The camera will display an animation and the screen will flash during the defined time.
  4. The status screen should quickly display the name of the folder and then display “BURST”. Your burst photos folder has been recorded!

The photos are recorded in a folder on your camera SD card.

Time Lapse (TimeL)

The Time Lapse mode takes a 360° picture at defined interval (by default every 5 seconds) during a period of time defined by the user. This mode can be useful when trying to capture changes or action happening over longer periods of time.

Shoot in Time Lapse

  1. Turn on the camera with a long press on the left button and wait for the camera to boot up completely. The camera is on when “VIDEO” or the last selected mode appears on the status screen.
  2. Short press the right button to switch mode until the status screen displays “TIMEL”. An animated mustache might show up for a few seconds while the time lapse mode is being loaded.
  3. Short press the left button to start taking photos. The camera will display a counted between each photo.
  4. Short press the left button again to stop taking photos. The status screen should quickly display the name of the folder and then display “TIMEL”. Your time lapse photos folder has been recorded!

The photos are recorded in a folder on your camera SD card.
